If this book had any illustrations I would've given it 5 starts. Great content. Concise, practical information to put into every day use. Hope there are illustrations added in any updated versions.

Detailed, practical information--very helpful for patients

This book contains detailed practical information that can help patients avoid some of the serious foot-related complications of diabetes. It's written in a style that's easy to understand, and is short enough to hold the reader's attention. I agree with two other reviewers that some illustrations would be helpful--I suggest bunions, warts, and foot ulcers for the next edition.

Things diabetics MUST know.

10% of diabetics will have an amputation. This book isn't pleasant reading, but it's important if we don't want to be part of that 10%. This little book is full of advice for what to watch for, what kinds of socks and shoes to choose, when to see your doctors. One piece of advice that I valued is if you will need corrective surgery on your feet for things like bunions or heel spurs don't keep putting it off because diabetics leads to poor vascular circulation, which will make surgery more difficult or impossible later down the road. There is a good bit of repetition in the book, but I think this was because they knew that many people would only read the chapters that addressed their particular problem. I think this is a must read for all diabetics.
